Insurance, Workers Compensation Board, Veteran’s Affairs, Department of National Defense:
In Nova Scotia, physiotherapy is directly accessible to the public, which means you do not need a doctor’s referral to have an assessment or treatment. However, some insurance plans require a doctor’s referral to cover your visit’s cost.
We are registered with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists and can direct bill any insurance company that offers this service.
Please contact your insurance provider before your first session, so that you know what your plan covers, as it may only cover a certain percentage or maximum amount. The client will be responsible to pay any remainder amount not covered.
We are not registered with Workers Compensation Board.
Questions to ask your insurance provider to understand your coverage:
-
Do I need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy services to be covered?
-
What is my limit per session, how much coverage do I have in a calendar year?
-
Does my insurance cover double appointments on the same day? (good for people travelling from outside HRM, those needing more therapy time, or people with mobility issues making coming into the clinic difficult)
If you are under Veteran’s Affairs or the Department of National Defense, please contact us directly at info@physiomatters.ca.
Payment:
PhysioMatters accepts Visa, Mastercard, Debit, cash, interact transfer or cheque.
Cancellation Policy:
If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel by email, online or text/phone at least 24 HOURS before appointment time; otherwise, you will be charged 50% of the session fee. If you cancel within 4 hours, you will be charged the full session fee.
* Please note that insurance companies cannot be billed for missed appointments.*
